Gold Souks
Gold is serious business in this part of the world and the dazzling souk near the Hyatt Regency stands testimony for this. The gold souk, or gold market, is a truely dazzling sight to behold. It has earned Dubai a reputation for being the 'City of Gold'. The market offers earrings, rings,
Necklaces, bracelets and pendants. To entice you further, many different shades of gold are also available. You can choose from modern to traditional items and if that doesn't suit your taste you can get your own piece exclusively designed for you. Craftsmen can alter the composition of alloys in the gold to create pink, white, yellow or green hues in one piece.
This souq is aggressively promoted during the Dubai Shopping Festival and Dubai Summer Surprises, which both rocket gold sales into orbit.

Fish Market
Smelly... but just the spot for the non squeamish seafood fanatics. The fish market is worth a trip for a few snapshots to show the folks at home.the varity of freh fish is amazing and you will likly come across some species that you,ve never seen before. It isn't just the display of fish;the cleaning and gutting activity and the bargaining process is quite fascinating too.The market has undergone a
revamp in the bid to accentuate the fishing heritage of the region and also to educate tourists .Besides a seafood restaurent,a museum explains the history of this past fishing village. The al hamriya fruit and vegetable market opposite offers tropical fruit;the varity is bountiful and the prices are ridiculously low, especially for the huge qualities you leave with.
The best times to visit the Fish Souk at Deira would either be in the early mornings or late at night. Just watching the animated local fishermen unload their catches and selling them in the market while engaging in a bargaining session with their customers is indeed an attraction in itself. Their catches include king fishes, red snappers, rock cods, barracudas, tuna, lobsters, crabs, king prawns, sea breams, squids, pomfrets, sharks, mackerels, sardines and many other species.
